Was at a book swap last month at the public library downtown. Some retired English teacher told me she always reads the last chapter first of any whodunnit. Said it changes how you read the whole thing. Tried it on a Patterson book I was halfway through and honestly it made more sense. Felt like I was watching the clues fall into place. Has anyone else tried reading books backwards or am I just weird?

It was always small stuff like checking a spreadsheet or printing labels, but it meant I stayed late every night for two months. I felt like a jerk saying no, but I was getting zero done during regular hours. Finally I tried something dumb: I told her I had a hard stop at 5 PM because I had to pick up my kid from practice in Westbrook. I don't even have kids. But after I said that, she stopped handing me stuff after 4 PM completely. She started asking around noon more. Has anyone else just made up an excuse like this and had it actually fix the problem?

Finally called my buddy in Phoenix who said just use a flathead screwdriver to pop the clip. Fixed it in 4 minutes. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon because you trusted the wrong tutorial?

My neighbor's dog dug up my entire garden bed last Tuesday and I'm still mad about it

I spent all Saturday morning three weeks ago planting 40 tomato starts and a bunch of pepper plants along my back fence. They were looking so good until my neighbor's husky decided my garden was a digging spot. I came home from work last Tuesday and saw the soil flung everywhere, about 20 of the plants ripped out and dried up on the grass. The neighbor didn't even apologize, just said "dogs dig" like it was no big deal. I'm thinking of putting up a short fence around the bed but that's another $60 I didn't plan on spending. Has anyone else had to deal with a neighbor's pet wrecking their hard work?
