Tried the 'use a binder clip for phone cord management' trick from a blog

I clipped it to my desk edge to keep the charging cable in place, but the metal part scratched a deep groove into the wood finish after about two days. What's a better way to keep a cable from falling behind furniture without wrecking it?

Adhesive clips are way safer for finishes. Could also loop the cable through a command hook.

Saw someone use zip ties with adhesive pads for a clean look.

Try a small adhesive-backed cable clip instead.

Saw a hack using binder clips for that.
