I mean, this is what happens with every single one of those life hack tips. They sound so smart and easy but then you just end up with a weird, broken version of the thing you were trying to save. Like putting your phone in rice to dry it out and finding it covered in starch dust, or using baking soda for everything until your whole fridge just smells like old pancakes. It's like we're all so desperate for a shortcut that we'll believe freezing pants is a real substitute for soap and water.

Actually, the rice thing can work in a pinch, but you're right about the starch dust. Silica gel packets are way better if you have them.
