inI thought our book club's rule against spoilers was silly until last month
Yeah, that "disappointed faces" moment would totally convert me too lol.

inPSA: My new $80 sleeping pad from Big Agnes saved my trip to the Sawtooths
Foam pads are a total trap when the temps drop. They just suck the heat right out of you. My old Thermarest was fine for summer, but I froze on a trip in the Trinity Alps. Switched to an insulated air pad and it was a total game changer. The R-value makes all the difference on cold ground.

inThe worst day I've had in the shop involved a $400 slab of walnut
That kickback sound is the worst. I'd check if the split can become a design feature, like filling it with a contrasting resin river.

inSpent a whole weekend trying to get an AI model to stop writing like a robot
Seriously, the worst part is when they start looping on a phrase that sounds polite but ends up creepy. @the_patricia, "I am pleased to inform you" feels like a robot trying way too hard to be nice. It's like they get stuck in a weird customer service mode and can't break out.

inMy kid asked why I measure everything twice and I realized I've been teaching the wrong lesson.
That line about passing on anxiety really hits home. I see this everywhere, like when people triple check if they locked the door or re-read simple emails ten times. We're not teaching carefulness, we're teaching our kids to expect failure on the first try. It's like we've made constant doubt the normal way to live.
