My attempt to use a binder clip as a phone stand ended with a cracked screen

I saw the hack online and tried it with a heavy phone, but the clip slipped off my desk after about 10 seconds. Anyone have a better DIY stand idea that actually works?

What did you do with all your old ones? I kept mine for years and finally used them to organize small stuff in a junk drawer. The clear plastic ones are perfect for holding screws or paper clips. It felt good to reuse them instead of just throwing them out.

Actually turned mine into tiny picture frames. Cut out photos to fit inside where the film used to go, then hung them on a string with mini clothespins. Makes for a weird little wall display that gets a lot of comments. It's a bit more work than just putting screws in them, but it gives the things a second life you can actually look at.
