Why does nobody talk about the time sink of fixing a corrupted AutoCAD plot style table?

I just wasted an entire Tuesday afternoon, about 5 hours, trying to rebuild a custom CTB file after a project manager's computer crashed and corrupted the only copy.

Oh man, "wasted an entire Tuesday afternoon" is the official slogan of CAD work. I once spent three hours on a similar fix only to realize I'd been editing the wrong backup file the whole time. It's a special kind of pain that makes you question all your life choices.

Honestly, this happens with so much stuff now. Like @adams.cameron said, it's that special pain of wasted time. I see it with recipe websites that make you scroll forever or phone updates that break a simple app. We spend more time fixing the tools than doing the actual work. It feels like everything is built to fall apart just to eat up your day.
