My 'perfect' title block template was costing me hours
I spent two days on a set of plans for a small office fit-out, using my usual title block with every field filled. The client's engineer took one look and said, 'Why is the soil report listed on the interior partition plan?' I had been copying the same full data set to every single sheet for every project, even when it wasn't needed. That one comment made me see I was adding pointless steps. Now I only put sheet-specific info on each one. Anyone else get stuck in a habit like that?

Oh man, I've definitely copy-pasted my way into similar nonsense before!

Copy-pasted my way into similar nonsense" - yeah that phrase hits different when you realize half the time the issue is our brains just skipping over what's actually there. We get so used to reading the same error messages or code snippets that we autopilot right past the real problem. I swear sometimes the fix is literally right in front of us but our eyes just gloss over it because we're in "fix it fast" mode instead of "look at it like a stranger would" mode. It's like those optical illusions where you stare at it forever and then someone points out the obvious thing and you feel dumb.
