Talking to my niece about her art school project made me question the whole 'more detail is better' thing.

She said her teacher told her 'clarity beats complexity' after she spent 40 hours on a single, overworked character. It made me look at my own portfolio differently. Anyone else get that advice and actually try to apply it?
