Update: The auto shop on River Road tried to bill me for repairs they didn't do

Took my van in for a simple brake check last Tuesday. Got a call saying they replaced the pads and rotors, which was news to me. When I picked it up, the invoice was for over six hundred bucks. I pointed out the old parts still looked fine, and the manager just shrugged. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

max135, in the original post, the shop billed for work they NEVER performed. Your case with repairs done without asking is still a problem, but it's a different kind of issue. Both show a LACK of honesty that's just not okay.

Did you sign off on any work order before they did the repairs?

Have you ever had a repair shop just start working without asking? That's what happened here. @elliot_mitchell, you're right to ask about a work order, but they actually did the repairs first. I got a call after the fact saying the car was already fixed. Now they want payment, but I never signed anything giving them the go ahead. It feels like they're trying to force me into paying for something I didn't approve yet.
