The week a single customer called our store line 47 times in one day

They were convinced we had their missing package, but our system showed it was still at the main hub. The constant ringing made it impossible to help anyone else. Has anyone else had a single person just completely shut down your whole phone line?

Customers with missing packages are desperate for answers. Your store is their only point of contact, so the calls make sense. Blocking that line just shows the company doesn't care.

Forty seven times in one day? That's insane.

Desperate for answers" is exactly right, like @loganl22 said. A buddy of mine had a medical device lost in shipping last winter. He called the company maybe fifteen times in one day because it was a matter of health, not just a missing book. Each call was a different person telling him to wait 48 more hours. He wasn't being rude, he was scared. Blocking calls just tells people their problem doesn't matter, and that's a terrible way to treat anyone.
