Found a way to keep my shears from slipping during a long cut
I was working on a big color correction last week, a lot of sectioning and cutting. My thumb kept sliding on the shear handle after about an hour, which was messing with my control. I tried putting a thin strip of that self-adhesive sports wrap, the kind you use for fingers, around the thumb ring. It only costs like $5 for a roll. The grip was way better and it didn't add bulk. I got through the rest of the cut without having to readjust my hold every few minutes. Has anyone else found a simple fix for tool grip that actually holds up?

Honestly the material of the shear handle itself is a huge factor. Some of the cheaper ones have that super slick plastic that nothing sticks to. You might be fighting a losing battle if the tool's base design is working against you.

Yeah, @park.robin, what about the shape of the handle itself?
