Hit 500 sweeps last year and still hate my own method

I counted up my jobs last December and realized I hit exactly 507 chimney sweeps for 2024. That number surprised me because I've been doing this for 8 years and still feel like I'm guessing on half my brush angles. Anyone else keep track of their yearly count and feel like they should be faster by now?

Even pros feel shaky sometimes, it's just part of doing anything long enough.

Ngl @xenagarcia is right. Deep breaths and reset your grip, it works.

Deep breaths are honestly the cheat code nobody tells you about. When I start fumbling my grip it's almost always because I'm rushing or holding my breath without realizing it. I literally stop everything, take three slow breaths, and then deliberately loosen and retighten my grip from scratch. It's wild how much just resetting that one thing fixes everything else. Anyone else find their hands get clammy when they're stressed and need a quick dry off too?
