Just realized most guys in my area skip the final power stretch on the second pass

I started doing it on a job in Spokane three months ago and now my seams stay tight for years, not just months.

Totally, that extra step is a total game changer.

Remember my neighbor who tried to save time by not letting the glue set before clamping. He said it felt tight enough. Fast forward six months and his whole bookshelf came apart like a house of cards. It's the same idea, those last little steps seem pointless until you see what happens when you cut them out. Makes me wonder what else we're all rushing through that will bite us later.

How could anyone skip that step? I started doing the same thing last year and it completely changed how my work holds up. It's the difference between a quick fix and a job that actually lasts.

My buddy Mike skipped the primer step on his deck last summer. The whole thing started peeling after three months because he rushed it. Now he's spending twice the time to strip it all back down.
