Vent: Chose the cheap crimper instead of the Klein...
Had to decide between a $15 no-name crimper at the hardware store or the Klein Tools one for $45 last Tuesday. Grabbed the cheap one to save some cash and it mangled three ends in a row before I got a good connection. Anyone else get burned by cheap tools on a tight timeline?

And honestly, the real hidden cost nobody talks about is the frustration tax - you lose your rhythm and start second-guessing every connection after the first few get mangled. That's time and brain space you never get back.

Bought a $12 crimper once that made my connections look like they got hit by a tiny hammer. Spent more money on replacement ends than the tool was worth in the first place. Guess I figured my wallet needed a lesson in self control.

I read somewhere that cheap crimpers often have misaligned dies which is why they crush the connector instead of making a clean crimp. My buddy had the same problem with a fifteen dollar one from an auto parts store and it ruined his whole weekend wiring a trailer harness. The Klein costs more upfront but saves you from buying extra ends and wasting time redoing connections.
