Found a cheap way to keep my boning knife from slipping on fat

I got tired of my handle getting greasy mid-shift at the shop last Wednesday. Tried wrapping the handle with a rubber band near the bolster and it actually gave me a solid grip through a whole side of beef. Cost me nothing and I didn't have to buy those expensive grip tape rolls. Anyone else got a quick fix like this for dirty hands?

Wait, you mean I've been buying those expensive grip tapes for nothing? I always thought rubber bands would just roll up or snap after a few minutes on a wet handle. But hearing you got through a whole side of beef with that setup kinda changed my mind honestly. I've been fighting with a slippery handle on my breaking knife for months now and never thought of something this basic. Gonna try a couple thick rubber bands on my own knife tomorrow and see how it holds up.

Funny enough, @evan_campbell, I once had a buddy who swore by wrapping a bit of old bike inner tube around his filet knife handle... lasted him years before it finally rotted off.
