Switched to store brand laundry detergent after a 5 year standoff
My sister did a blind test with my usual Tide and the Target brand - I picked the cheap one every single time. Now I'm out $200+ I wasted over the years, anyone else get stubborn about name brands for no reason?

$200 later and you find out your nose was just as fooled as your wallet. Welcome to the club, we meet at the store brand aisle.

Man I just read something about how stores use synthetic scents in those fancy candles and perfumes on purpose. They know it triggers a reaction in your brain that makes you think it's high quality but really it's just cheap chemicals. That $200 bottle you bought probably costs them like $8 to make and the actual fragrance oil is a tiny fraction of the price. I saw this whole breakdown about how the fancy packaging and the store lighting trick you into thinking it smells better than the store brand stuff sitting right next to it.
