Just realized my grocery store rewards card was tracking what I buy
I was reading the fine print on the back of my Safeway card last week and found out they sell my purchase data to third parties. Has anyone tried those privacy-focused alternatives like using a prepaid gift card instead?

Pulled out my CVS card a few months ago and couldn't believe the small print. They track everything from toothpaste brand to what flavor of chips you grab. Switched to using a reloadable Walmart gift card for groceries now. It's a little annoying reloading it every week but beats having some data broker know I bought three bags of Tostitos last Tuesday.
