Honest feedback from my ex-client about my painting crew totally changed how I clean up

I run a painting crew in Phoenix and had this one client who was super picky but fair. After we finished her whole house for about $8,500, she pointed out all these tiny paint flecks on her tile floor that I honestly thought we'd cleaned up pretty well. She said 'your work is actually great but the cleanup is making you look sloppy and I'm not referring you to anyone until that's handled.' Ngl that hit hard because I thought we were doing a solid job. So now I have my crew do a final walkthrough with flashlights and we run a shop vac over every floor twice before we declare the job done. Has anyone else had a client give feedback that made you change your whole routine?

Friend of mine had a roofer leave nails everywhere and a kid stepped on one.

Had a similar thing happen to a buddy of mine. His neighbor kids were always playing in the yard while he was working on their fence and one of them managed to get a splinter from some old wood he set down. The mom went ballistic. Called him every name in the book. He ended up vacuuming the whole yard with a shop vac and then raking it by hand just to prove a point. @knight.mason nails are way worse though because you can't see them in grass and they don't just hurt they can cause real infection if not treated quick. Did that kid end up being okay?

Flashlights and double shop vac runs? Man, I bet your crew hates you now. That client was probably the type to inspect her toast for uneven toasting. But hey, at least she didn't find a nail in her kid's foot like that roofer's client. Next time you'll be out there with a magnifying glass and tweezers picking up individual dust particles. Pretty soon you'll be shampooing the carpets after every job just to be safe. Good on you for taking the feedback though, even if it came from someone who sounds like a total nightmare.
