A month of solo lunches taught me about social expectations
Honestly, I used to think skipping group meals meant you were rude or lonely. Tbh, I got tired of faking interest in chats I didn't care about. Now, I just grab my food and sit alone, no phone, just watching people. Ngl, some folks still stare, but I feel more calm and real. Looking back, I see how we're pushed to always be with others, even when we need quiet.

Missing out on those chats means losing real connections.

Honestly feel like real connections can happen without constant online chatting. Some of my closest friends are people I only talk to in person or during deeper catch-ups. Forced daily messages often turn into small talk that doesn't mean much. The solid stuff sticks around even when the digital noise fades.

Wait, doesn't endless chatting online sometimes just cover up real loneliness though?
