Why does every crime doc have to stretch 2 hours into 8 episodes
I started a true crime series last week and by episode 3 they were reusing drone shots of the same house. Just tell me who did it and move on. Anyone else fast forward through half of these now?

Who cares if they pad it out a bit, you're the one who decided to watch all 8 episodes lol. If you don't like it just read the Wikipedia plot summary and move on.

It's the same thing with those 30 minute YouTube videos that could be 5 minutes. Everyone's padding everything out now because they think we have nothing better to do. I swear the last documentary I watched spent two whole episodes on the detectives' backstories and I still don't know how they caught the guy.

Is it really that deep though @ben206? Like yeah it's annoying when documentaries drag stuff out, but honestly sometimes the backstory stuff is kinda interesting if you just let it breathe a bit. Not everything needs to be a race to the finish line, you know? I watch those true crime docs and sometimes I'm glad they take their time because the fast ones feel like a Wikipedia article read aloud. Maybe I'm just easily entertained but I'd rather have too much story than not enough, even if it means sitting through one too many shots of someone staring at a case file.
