Question about a show recommendation from a stranger at the airport

I was stuck in Denver for a 5 hour delay and got talking to a guy at the gate. He asked if I'd seen 'Severance' and described it as 'a puzzle box you can't stop opening'. I binged the whole first season in a weekend after I got home. Has anyone else had a random recommendation turn into a total obsession?

Heard about a movie that sounded perfect, but it was so boring I checked my phone every five minutes. @caleb_stone is right, it's the worst feeling when you get tricked by the trailer. I read a whole thread where people said the director's last project had the same slow, pointless ending. Total waste of an evening.
