Compared two pellet brands side by side and the difference was huge
I got a bag of Lumberjack pellets last week to try against my usual Traeger brand. The Lumberjack burned way cleaner and left almost no ash in the hopper. Has anyone else noticed that big of a gap between brands or was it just my setup?

Traeger pellets are just sawdust with flavor oil. Lumberjack is real wood.

Yeah I saw something about that... someone ran a test and said Traeger actually uses alder as their base wood and just adds the flavor oils for the specific blends. That kinda backs up what you're saying about it not being real solid hardwood all the way through. Lumberjack is definitely more of a premium product with the whole logs being ground down instead of just dust and glue or whatever. I remember reading that Lumberjack even lists the exact wood percentages on their bags which Traeger doesn't do. Makes you wonder what's really in those Traeger blends sometimes.
