inAppreciation post: Switched from a standard 15mm cone wrench to a thin-walled Park Tool CNW-2 for a stubborn locknut on a vintage French hub.
Yeah, verar21 is right. Sometimes you just need a thinner wrench to get into a tight spot. It's not about wrecking the tool, it's about making it work for the job.

inUpdate: I spent $80 on a torque wrench and thought it was a waste until last week
Honestly, it was both. The weird click sound happened, and then the app just froze. But like, is it that big of a deal? Stuff glitches all the time. You just close it and open it again. People are acting like the whole internet broke.

inA forester in Oregon told me to leave a bigger stump on a pine removal
My buddy Jake was clearing a lot in Idaho and an old timer told him to soak his chainsaw bar in used motor oil overnight before a big job. Sounded like a messy waste of time. He did it anyway and that saw ran cooler and smoother for two full days of cutting through dry fir. He swears by it now.

inI was stuck between two prompts for a contest and picked wrong
Maybe the key's real magic, like @cameronmurray said, is making you ask what "nothing" even is.

inMy first draft hit 50,000 words and I'm kind of freaked out
Remember my buddy who wrote a whole fantasy novel draft in like three months. He hit 80k words and called me, voice totally shaky, saying he had three different versions of the same battle scene and a subplot about a goblin's bakery that went nowhere. He just kept writing "bakery" in his notes to cut later. Took him a year to clean it up, but that messy draft was the only way the good story underneath could come out.
