Dropped $150 on a pair of clippers that died in 6 months

Bought a set of Wahl Magics back in March thinking I was getting a solid workhorse for my chair. By September the motor started bogging down on anything thicker than a fade. Took them apart to clean them and found the armature was completely shot. Has anyone else had quality drop off with newer Wahl stuff compared to the old models?

Ngl @hannahw30 my neighbor's old Wahl from the 90s still cuts like butter but my new one crapped out too.
