That blind date in Austin where she spent 45 minutes on the phone in the bathroom

I drove 30 minutes to meet someone from Hinge at a coffee shop, and she excused herself to take a work call after 10 minutes, then I saw her sitting on the bathroom floor through the gap in the door scrolling Instagram. Has anyone else had someone just vanish like that mid-date?

Started setting a 20 minute timer on my phone before the next date so I had an out if they pulled that kind of stuff. A girl from Bumble ditched me to take a "family emergency" call and I just left cash on the table and went home. Never give a second chance to someone who treats your time like it means nothing.

Maybe some people overthink this stuff. A 20 minute timer seems a little much for a casual first date, you know? Sometimes people really do have emergencies or just get nervous and make bad calls. Unless they make it a habit, I probably wouldn't write someone off over one thing without knowing the whole story.
