I went from having a great first date vibe to a total ghosting situation in under 48 hours. What gives?

Maybe the vibe was only great on your end. People can be really good at acting interested when they're just being polite. A first date is basically a job interview with drinks, and sometimes you don't get a call back. Ghosting is a pretty clear answer, even if it's a rude one.
