Hit my 50th first date last week and it was a total flop

I've been keeping a tally for the past 3 years and finally reached 50 first dates. Number 50 showed up in ripped jeans and spent the whole night talking about his ex's cat... Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like this and felt kinda bummed about it?

Hang on, I gotta push back a bit on calling it a "first date." Like, if someone shows up in ripped jeans and talks about their ex's cat for the whole night, that's not really a date. That's more like a really bad hangout or maybe a free therapy session for them. I feel like you're giving too much credit to a lot of these encounters just because you bought coffee or sat across from someone. It's kind of like hitting 50 bad job interviews and calling them all "job offers" you know what I mean. Maybe you need to rethink what you're actually counting here before you get too bummed out.

Terry, you make a really good point and I feel for anyone who's been through that kind of letdown.
