I was dead set against PPG clear coat until a shop in Nashville proved me wrong with 6 month results
After swearing by Sherwin-Williams for 5 years, I saw a 2018 F-150 that got PPG's Deltron 8000 and still had zero peeling or yellowing after 8 months of Tennessee sun, so who else has switched sides on a product they were sure was overpriced?

That whole thing reminds me of how people act with phone batteries or truck tires. Everyone swears their brand is the best until they see a buddy's setup holding up way better in real world conditions. It's like my neighbor who only bought Michelin tires for years until my cheapos outlasted his on the same gravel road. Sometimes you just gotta let the results speak for themselves instead of getting stuck on brand loyalty.

@oliver_wilson49 that hits close to home. I just read a study about how people stick with tire brands even when cheaper ones do better on gravel roads. Brand loyalty can blind you to what's actually working.

That study sounds familiar. I read something similar about how people get hooked on certain phone brands even when the specs show another model is way better for what they actually do. My cousin used to swear by his expensive Samsung phone until he tried my cheaper Motorola on a camping trip and realized his battery barely lasted the weekend while mine still had 40% left. It's wild how much advertising and what your friends use can override actual performance. Brand loyalty is weird like that, it's almost like people get emotionally attached to a logo instead of just buying what works. You ever notice how some folks will defend their favorite brand like it's their own kid?
