Went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City and the water park was a total germ fest

I took my kids there last month. The water was cloudy everywhere, I saw bandaids floating, and the lifeguards were just on their phones. I spent $400 for a weekend and left with pink eye. Has anyone else had a bad experience at these indoor water parks or is it just me?

Gotta ask did you check their inspection scores before booking? I look those up now after a bad experience at a different one and it really opened my eyes to how gross these places can get.

I stayed at a Motel 6 in Tucson last year that had a 78 on their inspection. You know what? The room was fine. Sheets were clean, bathroom looked scrubbed, no bugs. I think people get worked up over these scores without really knowing what they mean. A low score could be something dumb like a mop bucket left out or a paperwork issue. Unless you see roaches crawling on the bed or mold in the shower, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
