inMy fieldwork in Egypt taught me to value aerial surveys
That drone shot finding a temple complex is exactly it. I had the same turn-around with LiDAR on a dig in Belize. We were cutting through jungle for weeks and getting nowhere. Fired up the LiDAR for a single flyover and it showed a whole hidden causeway system right under our feet. Totally changed how I plan any site work now.

inMy history class skipped over the controversial parts, and it bugs me.
What, you expected them to actually show you the yearbook where your uncle is drunk at the wedding? They only hand out the pages where everyone's smiling nicely. It's way easier to test you on dates and names than on why things actually fell apart.

inPSA: That remote lakeside cabin I used to visit is getting crowded now
That exact cabin was my first real camping trip ten years ago. More people going just means more folks getting to enjoy the woods, even if it's a bit louder. Found my current favorite spot because someone else posted a picture, so it goes both ways.

inRemember when balcony gardens were just a few pots?
It's wild how these small things become big trends. I saw it with sourdough starters a few years back too, this shift from a private hobby to a whole shared thing.
