I actually prefer working on old rotary selector switches over digital panels
I've been fixing elevators for a long time, and I still like the old rotary switches better than the new digital ones. You could touch them and hear the clicks, which helped you figure out problems fast. Now, if a screen goes blank, you're stuck until you reboot the whole thing. I once had a job where the switch was just dirty, and a quick clean got it running again. A lot of mechanics think the new stuff is easier, but I don't buy it. To me, the old ways were just more solid, lol.
