Looking for a reliable outdoor storage shed (vinyl or resin)

Agreed on going the vinyl route. Just make sure whatever you buy has a sturdy internal metal frame so it can handle heavy snow loads if you live up north.

The big toss-out: should we care more about cable recycling?

Keep a bin in your truck just for the clean cut-offs, toss it at a scrapyard once a month. Bosses don't notice the extra thirty seconds, and you're still doing something about the waste.

Labeling every wire changed how I troubleshoot.

But is it really that big of a deal? Small stuff gets blown out of proportion all the time, @quinn_hayes. Might not be worth the worry.

I'm fed up with radios replacing proper crane signals

Yeah that "one radio glitch away" line is too real. My buddy was directing a truck back at a job site last week, and his hand signals got mixed up because the driver was only looking at the backup cam. The dude almost clipped a light pole. Felt exactly like what @matthew682 is saying, where the basic skill gets lost because everyone assumes the tech will just work. We had a long talk after that about going back to the old school signals for everyone. Makes you wonder what else we've forgotten how to do just because a battery died, right?

Showerthought: My Kyoto trip has me doubting the European paper hype

What gets me is how washi deals with humidity. European sheets can feel a bit fussy in damp weather, but that mulberry paper stays crazy stable. It's a totally different mindset for book conservation in some climates, you know?
