inQuestion about installing a part you know isn't quite right
But what if the foreman knew the gasket would hold long enough? In many shops, they bank on things lasting past the warranty period, so callbacks aren't their problem. @derek670, maybe the real plan was just to hope for the best and deal with it later if it fails.

inLol, I just flipped my view on cancel culture after a podcast deep dive
Maybe @gavinm94 is right that letting things slide never fixed anything, but I still worry we're just scaring people into silence.

inThat laundry room redo where the customer almost burned his house down
A guy I know tried to save cash by wiring his own garage lights. He crossed the wires and caused a small electrical fire in the wall. Smoke poured out before he killed the power, and the drywall was charred. His wife made him call an electrician who found three other code violations. They spent more fixing it than a pro would have charged upfront. Sometimes that DIY confidence is just a pricey accident waiting to happen.
