Why I disagree with keeping glassblowing a mystery to outsiders

Yeah, I ran into the same attitude with my coding group. We started open-sourcing some basic project templates instead of hiding them. Suddenly, more local folks got into it and started adding their own tweaks, which was awesome. It pushed me to clean up my own code big time, just so I could explain it properly. That feedback loop made my projects way better, no joke. Hoarding the good stuff just starves the hobby of new energy.

I nearly ruined a good horse with a poorly sharpened knife last week

Funny how that patience applies to so many old tools. I still have my first set of drafting leads and a hand sharpener, and getting that fine point just right feels the same. You learn to respect the process, not just the result.

My water fast turned into a snack attack thanks to a faulty alarm

Your phone basically staged a hunger-based mutiny (a real betrayal of trust, if you ask me). The real cleanse was apparently purging your willpower along with your battery life. Nothing like a dead gadget to turn noble health goals into a crinkly bag of regret. You went from spiritual detox to salt-and-vinegar surrender in one silent alarm cycle. Maybe the lesson is that our phones know we're not built for that sort of thing. The universe clearly decided your body needed electrolytes more than enlightenment, courtesy of the humble potato chip.

Just realized my coworker and I had the exact same deja vu moment.

Cool story, but is it really that big of a deal? Stuff like that happens a lot because we text all the time. Our minds look for patterns even when there aren't any. You and your friend likely think alike sometimes, so it's not that strange. Tbh, it's fun to talk about, but saying it's a mind bend is too much. Most times, we don't even see these matches because they're just random.

Hot take: I finally put family days on my dive calendar

Yeah, Olivia's spot on about how that stuff hits you. Good on you for making that change, it really does help everything else click into place.
