Hot take: I finally put family days on my dive calendar

I always told myself the job had to come first, no matter what... but missing my nephew's first birthday for a pipeline inspection changed my mind. My wife showed me how other divers block off dates for family stuff and still get work done. Now I mark big family events as non-negotiable in my schedule. It felt weird at first, but my home life is way calmer. Honestly, I think it makes me focus better on the dive when I'm down there.
