I used to side-eye tablet parents until my own kid had a public meltdown
I always thought letting a kid watch a screen at a restaurant or store was just lazy, plain and simple. But then last week at the grocery store, my three year old lost it completely because I said no to the fruit snacks, screaming so loud people stared. In that moment of pure panic, I finally got it. I handed over my phone with a silly cat video on it just to get through the checkout line, and I felt zero shame.
