DAE lose track of time trying to capture the exact rhythm of rain on different surfaces?

I've been filming short clips of rain hitting various things around my apartment, like the metal gutter, a glass pane, and even a plastic chair, just to compare the sounds. It started as a way to kill time during a slow week, but I got weirdly invested in getting each droplet's impact timed perfectly with the video. My early attempts were messy, with off-beat splashes that didn't sync well, which kind of ruined the calming vibe I was going for. After fiddling with the playback speed and trimming frames for what felt like forever, I finally stitched together a sequence where the patter flows smoothly from one surface to the next. Uploading that thirty-second loop felt like a real achievement, especially when folks said it helped them unwind after a long day. Honestly, I keep watching it myself, noticing how the audio waves match up so neatly with each visual splash... It's just one of those simple projects that turned out better than expected, and now I'm eyeing my collection of mugs to see how they sound in a downpour.

Seriously, you trimmed frames for what felt like forever? In my experience, that kind of meticulous editing can drive anyone nuts, but it clearly paid off with that smooth loop. The calming vibe must be totally worth the effort.

My friend once spent a whole weekend syncing rain sounds to piano keys.

Did they get it to sync perfectly? That kind of dedication is honestly inspiring!
