The $20 heat gun I bought for paint stripping fixed my bathroom tile problem too

I spent 3 hours scraping off old wallpaper glue with a scraper and my arm nearly fell off, so I grabbed a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight and blasted the residue for 10 seconds before it peeled off like butter. Then I noticed the grout in my shower was flaking and figured why not try softening it up with the same heat gun before regrouting - worked way better than a grout saw. Has anyone else found a random tool that suddenly solved two totally different problems on the same project?

Had a buddy who used a cheap oscillating multi-tool to cut down a door that was sticking, then realized it was perfect for scraping out old caulk in his bathroom. He spent the whole weekend using that thing on every project he could find. Said it made him look like a total pro even though he barely knows which end of a hammer to hold.

Did you used to think those multi-tools were just gimmicks for infomercials? I definitely did until I borrowed one for a weekend and now I get why people rave about them.

Yeah til you realize it's just another overpriced tool that sits in a drawer after two uses.
