Update: My DIY fix for a mouse that all the experts loved but I hated

Every review raved about the ergonomics, but my wrist was killing me. I tried adding foam padding after seeing a DIY fix online, and now it's perfect, lmao.

Logitech's ergonomic mice get praised in every tech blog, but wrist pain isn't always the mouse's fault. My cousin swore his carpal tunnel was from his keyboard until he adjusted his chair height. Adding foam might help, but it sounds like a band-aid for a deeper setup issue. Most people just need to take breaks and stretch, not modify their hardware. I've used a basic dell mouse for years without issues, so maybe the problem is overblown. Spending time on DIY fixes seems excessive when a five minute adjustment could do the trick.

Reading your take, I'm stunned you think the problem is overblown. Using a Dell mouse without issues is lucky, but it doesn't negate the widespread reports of pain. Ergonomic assessments often reveal subtle flaws in posture and equipment that simple adjustments won't fix. Dismissing hardware modifications ignores those who've found real relief through them after years of discomfort. Why not acknowledge that both adjustments and tailored hardware can coexist as solutions, especially for people with existing conditions?

Totally DISAGREE that foam padding is just a band-aid. For some people, standard ergonomics DON'T cut it because everyone's body is UNIQUE. My friend had CHRONIC pain until she modded her keyboard with clay for a better angle, and now she's PAIN-FREE. Calling that excessive IGNORES how personalized comfort needs can be. Sometimes the factory design just doesn't work, and hacking it is the ONLY solution that actually helps.
