inQuestion about why drywall repair skills are vanishing
Two thin coats of that fast set stuff is what did it. Anthony, I saw that under an hour claim and laughed out loud at my phone. Regular joint compound needs a full day between coats in my damp garage. I tried that green lid setting-type mud once and it was still soft after three hours. The idea of mud being ready for sanding that fast just does not match any reality I have lived in.

inMy ethical issue with second-hand parts from online auctions
Man, I've been burned by this exact thing before. Honestly, if the seller has no history, just walk away. Tbh, @uma685 is right about the risk of scams or stolen stuff. I once bought a cheap CPU from a no-history auction and it was dead on arrival. Saving money isn't worth the hassle of dealing with a broken part or worse, legal trouble. Always go with sellers who have good feedback, even if it costs a bit more.

inWatching a friend's arranged marriage changed my mind
You really nailed it with the part about watching their bond grow. I had a cousin in a similar spot and my advice is just be ready to listen without the old judgments. The best thing you can do is ask normal couple questions, like how their weekend plans are going, instead of drilling them about the arrangement. It helps them build that normal life you saw without extra pressure. What did your friend say when you told her your views had changed?

inArguing over the load sheet with my crew? I fixed it with a morning checklist.
Saw a funny article, @daniel492, about people forgetting their keys before that first cup.

inUpdate: My DIY fix for a mouse that all the experts loved but I hated
Totally DISAGREE that foam padding is just a band-aid. For some people, standard ergonomics DON'T cut it because everyone's body is UNIQUE. My friend had CHRONIC pain until she modded her keyboard with clay for a better angle, and now she's PAIN-FREE. Calling that excessive IGNORES how personalized comfort needs can be. Sometimes the factory design just doesn't work, and hacking it is the ONLY solution that actually helps.
