My concert jacket rip turned me into a sewing believer

Always tossed torn clothes. At a gig, my sleeve ripped bad. Someone in the crowd had a needle and thread. Felt weird but they fixed it quick. Now I see why people keep this skill alive.

Hey @blake_bell91, duct tape might seem like a quick fix, but it usually makes things worse. It doesn't stick well in bad weather and can ruin the tent fabric. You're better off using a real repair kit next time.

That duct tape tent patch reminds me of my old hiking boots. The sole started peeling off miles from the trailhead, and all I had was a roll of electrical tape. Wrapped it tight and it actually held for the whole walk back.
