Just counted my takeout containers and the number made me feel sick

I cleaned out my pantry last weekend and decided to stack all the plastic containers from food delivery... I hit 87 from just this year alone. That's like two orders every single week. It hit me that I'm spending over $300 a month on food I barely remember eating. I feel like I'm just throwing money in the trash and making a pile of plastic. Has anyone else had a moment like this that made them stop ordering out?

Saw a thing about how all that plastic never really goes away, it just breaks into smaller bits. @willowadams has a point about the food cost, but the container guilt is real.

Two orders every single week" is honestly not that wild. That's just life being busy. Do you really remember cooking 87 meals instead? The plastic thing is a bummer but they're just containers, not toxic waste. And the money... it's food. You have to eat anyway. Is it really that different from buying groceries that go bad in the fridge?

Just containers" was my view too, until I saw my own pile.
