Serious question, has anyone else tried using a heat gun on stubborn vinyl plank seams?

I was installing a rigid core floor in a Phoenix kitchen last month and had a plank that just wouldn't lock down flat. I carefully warmed the seam area with my heat gun for about 15 seconds, then pressed it, and it clicked right in without any damage. What's your go-to fix for a plank that fights you?

Honestly, that sounds like a great way to warp the plank permanently.

Heat guns seem risky, but maybe it's not that big a deal if you're careful.
