inHit 10,000 linear feet of ductwork drawn this year and that number scared me
That 10,000 feet number sounds dramatic but it's probably less impressive if you break it down by the actual working days. If you did 50 weeks at 40 hours, that's only 5 feet per hour which is pretty casual drafting pace. My guess is the shoulder thing is more about bad ergonomics than the total footage, especially if you're taking breaks and switching up your posture.

inTalking to an old timer about the Pentax Spotmatic got me thinking
guy I had a buddy who bought a "vintage correct" mercury battery for his Spotmatic and yeah it was like 80 bucks and died after three days of shooting. He was so mad he drove an hour to the nearest camera shop just to complain about it. The guy at the counter told him it was probably old stock that had been sitting on a shelf for thirty years and was already half dead when he put it in. My friend ended up just using a cheap adapter with a modern silver oxide battery and he says it's been working fine for months now. He still grumbles about that wasted 80 bucks every time we go shooting though.

inThat one Tuesday where I closed 3 jobs before noon and thought I was invincible
Cold coffee mornings were my thing for a solid month before I switched up my whole approach. What finally turned it around was going back to basics with people I already knew instead of chasing cold leads all day. Focused on just three solid connections and the energy came back way faster than I expected.

inPicked a cordless circular saw over a corded one for a deck build
Did you read that article a few months back about the guy who tried using a corded saw in the rain and ended up getting a shock? It was in some home DIY magazine my neighbor left on my porch. I guess it's a common problem with outdoor jobs, especially if you're working around wet dirt or mud like in Portland. Diana has a point about the lumber not caring, but I'd rather deal with batteries than risk getting zapped in a puddle... it just seems like common sense to me.

inI spent a year arguing that paper planners were better than digital
Had the exact same love affair with a leather bound planner that cost way too much. Felt so organized flipping through those fancy pages but kept missing dentist appointments and work deadlines like clockwork. Switched to a basic app on my phone and suddenly actually showing up on time became way easier than feeling productive while writing things down.
