I was steaming faces for way too long until a client in Denver said her skin felt tight for days after
That comment made me check my machine's manual and realize I'd been running it at 110 degrees for a full 8 minutes when the standard is actually 2-3 minutes max at 104, so has anyone else had to completely retrain themselves on a basic service?

Yeah, that autopilot thing is so easy to fall into. After reading @logan705's point about being set in your ways, it reminded me of my own mess-up with mixing times for a basic glaze. I was just going by feel for months until a batch turned out weird. Now I keep the instruction sheet taped right to my station and force myself to check the timer every single time, even though it feels silly. It broke that bad habit fast.

Completely retrain themselves on a basic service" really hits home. I used to be set in my ways on a simple procedure until a customer complaint made me check the book. It's amazing how a small piece of feedback can show you've been doing it wrong for years.

It's like muscle memory takes over and you stop checking the basics. I see it with people using power tools at home, running them way too high because they never read the safety sheet. That autopilot mode is real.
