I was hanging a 12-foot sheet solo in a Boise basement when it slipped and cracked down the middle.
I cut it clean at the break, used the two pieces to bookend the wall, and saved a trip back to the supplier, but what's your go-to fix for a snapped board when you're by yourself?

Scarf joint with screws, but how do you clamp it solo?

Honestly, cutting it and using the pieces is a solid save. I would have gone a different way though. For a clean snap like that, I'd scarf joint it back together with some wood glue and a couple screws from the back. It's hidden in a basement, so a little reinforcement gets the full sheet back up. Saves the seam you'd get from bookending.

Scarf joint sounds good but how do you keep pressure on it alone. I'd worry about the glue line opening up without a clamp. What's your trick for that.
