Found a tutorial on adding EL wire to an old bomber jacket from 2015
I stumbled on this guide from some guy in Berlin who used a $10 sewing kit and a 2 meter EL wire strand to light up the seams. He ran the battery pack through the lining so it's hidden. Anyone tried doing EL wire on denim instead of nylon?

Oh man, that brings back memories. I tried something similar a few years back on an old denim jacket I had and honestly it turned out pretty decent. The EL wire held up better than I expected because denim is thicker and the wire doesn't poke through as easy. My battery pack was a pain to hide though, I just tucked it in the inside pocket but it bulged out weird. You should go for it, just make sure your sewing is tight where the wire curves around the collar.

And yeah, the battery pack situation is always the worst part of these projects. I ended up sewing a little pouch on the inside of mine with some leftover fabric scraps and it sat flatter against my side so it wasn't as obvious. Did you ever find a workaround for that or just deal with the bulge?

I used to think EL wire on jackets was too tacky for me, but your comment about the denim actually makes a lot of sense. The thicker fabric really does hide the wire better, I never thought of that. My old project with a thin cotton hoodie had the wire poking through and it looked sloppy after a few washes. I might try a denim vest now instead of a jacket since it's less bulky. Thanks for the tip about sewing tight around the collar, that's where I probably would have messed up.
