That one random guy on Discord changed my whole approach to color theory
I was in a server for digital painting and this user named PixelPete just dropped a single image showing how he builds shadows with purple instead of black. I tried it on my latest landscape piece and the whole scene popped in a way I never managed before. Has anyone else had a total stranger's quick tip rewire how they work?

Has anyone checked if that purple is actually doing something functional, like hiding dirt or scratches better than black would? I feel like black shows every single fingerprint and dust speck, but a purple finish might actually look cleaner for longer in real world use. Plus depending on the shade, it could make the car stand out in a parking lot, which is a safety thing nobody talks about.
