Rant: Coolant recycling backfired spectacularly at my shop
I installed a basic coolant recycling setup to reduce our environmental footprint. The pump gave out after a week, leaving a huge puddle and a cranky service manager. Now I'm stuck cleaning it up while fielding jokes about being too green. Any simple fixes or should I just call it a loss?

That bit about "fielding jokes about being too green" really hits home. Isn't it funny how when you try to make a positive change and it stumbles, everyone jumps on the bandwagon to poke fun? But if you just stick to the old, wasteful ways, no one says a word. It's like we're wired to notice failures more than efforts. Maybe it's because trying something new stands out, so it's an easy target when it goes wrong. Hang in there, though. One mess doesn't mean the idea was bad, just that the pump wasn't up to it.

Remember that time I tried a compost bin to cut down on food waste? Thought it would be simple, just toss scraps in. Ended up with a swarm of fruit flies in the kitchen for a week, and my wife wouldn't stop calling it my science project. Makes you wonder why trying to do a little good has to come with its own laugh track, doesn't it? Guess the old way is just easier for everyone to ignore.

We're wired to see fails, so we gotta hype the wins.
