Why does nobody talk about the 'favorite movie' trap on first dates?
I went on a date last month at a coffee shop in Portland and this guy asked me my favorite movie. I said Goodfellas and he spent 20 minutes trying to prove I was wrong for liking it lol. He went scene by scene telling me why Scorsese is overrated and I just sat there sipping my cold latte. Has anyone else had someone pick apart your taste like that on a first date?

lmaooo a PowerPoint would have been the cherry on top. one time i told a girl my favorite movie was The Big Lebowski and she spent the rest of the date trying to convince me it's a "movie for men who peaked in college." i was like okay cool but can we just talk about what we do for work or something. she then went on this rant about how all Coen brothers movies are pretentious and i was just sitting there thinking about the bread bowl soup i should have ordered instead. some people really take movie taste as a personal attack i swear.
